Okay. This is an experiment of a music thread. I don't speak or read German but there are a few German language songs I listen to on a semioften basis. You won't be getting a German language conversation with me. AKA that's why the title used Google Translate. And quick question on that translation. Why did Google Translate capitalize Lieder?
How about German language songs you love?
My opening shot:
Blumenkranz (lit. "Flower Wreath"), sung by Cyua. Lyrics by Rie Sawano.
Music by Hiroyuki Sawano
The kid just told me that all nouns are capitalised in German.
Donkey named Shane!

One of my favourites (because I tried to forget all about "Lieder" since my exam in music class at school)
Wir fahren, fahren, fahren auf der Autobahn
Vor uns liegt ein weites Tal
Die Sonne scheint mit Glitzerstrahl
Wir fahren, fahren, fahren auf der Autobahn
Wir fahren, fahren, fahren auf der Autobahn
Fahrbahn ist ein graues Band
Weiße Streifen, grüner Rand
We drive, drive, drive on the motorway
A wide valley lies before us
The sun shines with a glittering beam
We're driving, driving, driving on the motorway
We're driving, driving, driving on the motorway
The road is a grey ribbon
White stripes, green edge
What I really liked at school and still today are some Lieder from my German class, by Christian Morgenstern.
Das ästhetische Wiesel
Ein Wiesel
saß auf einem Kiesel
inmitten Bachgeriesel.
Wißt ihr
weshalb?
Das Mondkalb
verriet es mir
im Stillen:
Das raffinierte Tier
tat's um des Reimes willen.
The aesthetic Weasel
A weasel
sat beneath a teasel
beside a wooden easel
Do you know
on what behalf?
The Mooncalf
told me so
when it got late:
Its cleverness did show
it did it for the rhyme's sake.
