Let's see your favourite photo of 2006.............

One that was taken by you, of course.

This photo was a stroke of luck, actually. My mate just stopped me as we were walking our dogs in the woods the other day (he used to be the photo editor for a large, national Sunday Newspaper) and said "Look at that! ......Now THAT would make a perfect photo...I wish I had my camera".

I felt around in my pocket, remembering I'd stuffed my camera in there a few days before, and hey presto!

He was right, of course. We were standing in a very shaded spot, so it highlighted the darkness of the wood, AND the gorgeous sunlight in the distance, a double whammy really.

Twenty yards on, and it looked completely different.

No wonder he was a photo editor.

So.....here's my favourite photo of 2006.

Nothing can top that, Spanky. It's just a most significant and beautiful picture. I only could offer a crass contrast to that.

It's not easy to choose my favourite photos - I like my autumns pics very much, too.

But since you, LE, ask for one from all the year: until now, it's this (done in May, in Chicago)

This is one of my faves:

I call this study:

'My pussy reclining on the bed - with the wrong date'.

I like this photo as it was one of the first taken with a digital camera (2nd hand) that someone very kindly sent to me - it already had a lovely picture of a cat stored, so I took one of my own. It had the wrong date on for ages, until I figured out how to do it. But it was taken in the summer - on a very happy day. The cat is called Biscuit, have you noticed the perfect line down her nose?

I MUST go to Chicago one day!! So much Art Deco there, and so little time.

The yanks sure know how to build and design, especially their Public buildings.

Hawaii is a fantastic place too, although I viewed most of it through eyes that were trying to focus after downing two rather large Mai Tais.
I DID get to see some brawny men, doing some synchronised rowing across the enormous surf though. The Prince would have enjoyed that sight slightly more than me, however.

Sarah, that line on the cat's nose is lovely. You have the perfect pussy.

Great pics so far.........

However, I refuse to comment on Shewolf's photo, as she makes us look like amateurs.

We had plenty of Mai Tai too, Spanky Wink

True, that picture of Bean is quite remarkable, especially how the
sun hits the outline of her body and hair. Barely 2 years old and a
supermodel.

smorgs, what kind of cat is that? She/he does have great markings.

And Walter, you have done justice to Chicago. All your pictures of
the city showed it in its true glory, but this one would be my favorite too.

Osso, that Art Institute looks very Frank Lloyd Wrightish. Is it?

It's just a moggy Clam, she has a sister, we were worried as their Mum was a feral cat. But they are very loving and friendly... and much fatter now!
