@parados,
spendi is good at regurgitating what he's read, but when it comes to relevance, he misses by a mile.

This doesn't need much concentration. You need the Trivia section for a bit of that.

I guess that explains why spendi regurgitates things he has read all the time.

Like wande eh? Where have you read before the notion I floated about ladies promoting evolution theory, as well they might.

I suppose you must think your posts are filled with original ideas and astounding creativity when compared to mine. That should give our readers a good laugh.

@spendius,
At least my trivia is terse and to the point, while your long drawn out didactic pontification is overwrought trivia.

@Lightwizard,
Let's see you on the Trivia threads then. Assertions don't count mate.

There's Acronyms, word association (a type of psychoanalysis), change a letter, never ending conversation, 7 letter game and one or two others which I can't remember due to my mind being a bit blitzed at imagining waking up in the morning next to any of that lot in the pub tonight.

I'm a nihilist in theory. In reality, I'm hard wired not to think that way.

spendi, Your blurbs on a2k doesn't make much sense, nor do they provide any information that is useful in any way. Why do you bother?

@cicerone imposter,
Because I'm a chivalrous Barbarian/Cavalier/Restorationist/Royalist who believes that all religion is irrational hypocrisy, and thus rational and fitted to human needs, that wit and conversation are superior to virtue, that marriage is the tomb of Love, that every fair Lady is meet for the gallant and that gallantry is the only possible relation between men and women who are, as is often forgotten, the only components of the human race, and that relations between men consist of gambling, boozing and duelling. The first and the last being nature's way, evolution's way, of winning the lady and the second gets us up for it when the lady isn't in season or, as some biologists might say, on heat.

Like Addison and Arnold, and many of our ilk, I believe that sweet reasonableness, taste, rational religion, viewed in a spirit of calm, insouciant disinterest, and the literature which reflects our values are the best remedies for all cultural ailments.

And I seek to reduce the number of Philistine/Roundhead/Puritan/ Republican/Shopkeepers with their strict fanaticism, snuffling self interest, sobriety, provincialism, bourgeoise top-show fakery and skinflintiness on account of the fact that the boneheaded triviality and banal stupidity of the type we have just witnessed in aparson's post and ci's post is a sufficient cause, should it become accepted generally in the population, to have normal people spending their lives hiding out under the stairs or even in a cave in the mountains in some remote region of the world.

I trust that answers both your questions in a satisfactory manner you silly little anti-A2K pricks.

Nothing would cause me more alarm than to think that my posts made the slightest sense, never mind much sense, to twottles of your type. I work hard to make sure you are out of the loop.

Youve succeeded in levels that you cannot even imagine. As an aside, When was it that your Rice Krispies began to speak to you? ANd, (more importantly) when was it that you first responded?

@farmerman,
Hang on a minute effemm. Rice Krispies are kid's food and kids are all atheists, being as immature and as lacking in wordly knowledge as they are.

How do you do an asnide in a post which confirms my success and in the same paragraph? It's certainly a sign of Rice Krispieness that your creative imagination is limited to such simple solecisms. It hints at straining impatiently for instant effect as when banging on a pan lid with a wooden spoon while Mom is on the phone withdrawing her attention from the soft, dense lumps in the nappy.

Kids are all Atheists... I don't know why I never noticed before. Thanks Spendi. I used to be scared about how thoughtful your posts were, but now I feel lost if I go a few hours without reading one of your gems.

@Diest TKO,
It's such a pity then TK that I can only do the tame stuff on a bourgeoise family forum.

The real philosophical arguments that there is no proof of evolution range from the mind-boggling absurdities to the profundities which make tucking the trousers into the socks a necessity in most social settings.

Analyses of Soft Tissue from Tyrannosaurus rex Suggest the Presence of Protein”
Authors: Mary H. Schweitzer, North Carolina State University; John M. Asara, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and Harvard Medical School; Jack Horner, Montana State University; et al
Published: April 13, 2007, in Science

Abstract: We present evidence from multiple analyses of Tyrannosaurus rex (MOR 1125) fibrous cortical and medullary tissues remaining after demineralization that support the preservation of collagen I, the main organic component of bone, in low concentrations in these tissues. We propose a possible chemical pathway that may contribute to this preservation. The presence of endogenous protein in dinosaur bone may validate hypotheses about evolutionary relationships, rates and patterns of molecular change and degradation, and chemical stability of molecules over time.

The relationship to the specific collagen to its homologue in ratites is a further "intermeidate fossil form" for birds and dinosaurs

I wouldn't try too hard LW. There's a "suggests" and a "may" in it in case you haven't noticed.

@spendius,
I realize you have the patience of a three-year-old when it comes to following any evolution science discovery, but your recommendation that I should give up because they are only in the stages of making suppositions on a very new dig is presumptuous and moot.

@Lightwizard,
There are "suggests" and "mays" and "possibly lead to" s on almost every news bulletin. They are the only meaningful words in the sentences in which they appear.

There's evidence that large-scale reductions in tobacco use may lead to large-scale reductions in wealth. Maybe borne out by recent events. A "may" or a "suggests" and the many variations, like the "if" in the Fromm quote, are like a red traffic light to me. I can see them from a long way off and I know the appropriate action to take. If you don't you must be living by some strange principles by now.

@farmerman,
No I hadn't actually. It must be a consequence of learning to read properly and thus not being taken in by speculations which are dressed up to look like facts to those who can't read properly or because they daren't.

What exactly in my post has given you a reason to make such a trite and worn out remark as that?

If you weren't such a thicko it is possible that it may have led to you having considered reminding me that I shouldn't say such obvious things as I said. But with the "if" being highly speculative that is a mere shot in the dark on which and confidence would be wasted.
