Reminds me of when they said baby walkers were dangerous because they could go down stairs. Well, duh ... so can babies if you don't have the door shut or a gate up!
Today crib pads and blankets are frowned upon - apparently they can smother the baby. WTH???
We're becoming a dumbing-down, fat, paranoid society.
None of my kids would ever have napped as babies if we didn't lay them on their stomach. Today that is a no-no, and now parents are even more at the mercy of their screaming children.
How did we ever survive without these people looking after us?
When I was a kid, rollerskates were metal and clamped on to the sole of your shoe, tightened to do that with a skate key. As you sailed along down the sidewalk one skate would come loose and hang off your foot by the ankle strap while you fell in one direction or another reaching your little hands toward the sidewalk for a nice abrasion or two..
