Just a heads up for A2Kers that frequently travel between US, Canada and Mexico. Part of the new law goes into effect 1/1/2007 and they are still confering over whether or not state ID or driver's licences will suffice as a passport. Until then, you'll need a passport for air travel after 1/1/2007 and for all land, air and sea travel after 1/1/2008.

Here's a link to the government's FAQ's about the new travel documents law:

And a link to an article about the debates over state ID vs federal passports.

How will this effect tourism at places such as Niagra Falls, Tiajuana and the Alamo? Will international A2K sweethearts still visit each other or will they finally bite the bullet and co-habitate to avoid the nusance?

It sounds like a pain in the neck, but necessary, in these times!

I have to take care of that pronto. My p-port expired at least a year ago and I keep forgetting to get it renewed. Went to Canada last Christmas and didn't need it at the border. I better get on it right away.
