at the bottom of the ballot here in new mexico is a list of judges where you can vote to retain or axe. I voted to axe every other judge.
I wasn't much better. A few I actually knew about. Far fewer than I expected (my fault, but I thought there'd be 4 or 5 or something and there were actually about 20). I'd read something recently about how the first person listed on the ballot usually had the advantage when people didn't know about the person/ position, so I voted either for women (if there was a choice) or for for the second person (if they were both women or both men). I figured that if they got that far they must be qualified. Hope I didn't vote for any real goobers.
I made a list of every candidate that I had seen really nasty ads about. There was a woman running for judge here who had an ad run about her where they superimposed her face over lines of cocaine and shady looking people standing around. So I voted for her. If I didn't know the people I voted for the third party candidate. We had a lot of folks running unopposed, so I went ahead and gave them my vote.
