The man whowould be king

The last king of USA was King George and then there was the Boston Tea Party. W doesn't read history. He thought he was a king sending poor Americans who enlisted with the National Guards and Reserves to invade Iraq. However, he is still president no matter that he cheated his way in.

Democrats on winning both the House and Senate do not have complete power. W can veto any legislative bill by vetoing it and it needs a 2/3 majority to overcome the presidential veto. So the Democrats still have some leeway regarding not fulfilling their objectives. The President is being obstructive!

W has been partially reigned in with the new Democratic Congress, which will provide a check and balance to the previous runaway government. To prevent further mischief something has to be done about Karl Rove and Dick Cheney now that Rummy has been taken care of by the military. The secret energy meeting Cheney had with oil executives would be a good start as he was probably one of the instigators of the Iraq invasion. The way to solve Iraq is find the genesis of the plot. What were their objectives and their strategy? Next would be the Valerie Plame affair. If Rove could be put out of commission for good like an imprisonment this will be a deterrent for future roves. It is a criminal act and he should not go unpunished if found guilty.

Next is to undo W's outrageous tax-cuts for the super-rich. If he vetoes it he can be portrayed as obstructionist. All his bad programs should be taken one at a time to showcase his foolishness and obstructionist nature.

Now is the crucial part. Something like the previous state of affairs should never be repeated. One party control of government and an unprovoked invasion of a country based on lies and breaking international law specifically created by the USA to prevent war mongers. Where the government is controlled by one party with the absence of check-and-balance and an international law is broken by a pre-emptive war, citizens or local officials may have recourse to put mid-term elections on a footing whereby half of the Senate or even 2/3's of the Senate be open for re-election thus those senators who have served for 4 years seek re-election. This is an emergency measure to prevent the country from going down the dictatorship path. Probably it will not be doable, as it requires 2/3's majority for an Amendment while the Democrats have only simple majority.

Look to 2008 now that 2006 has happened. There is no need for impeachment but for investigations into the 9/11 matter.
