I agree that "Dig 'Em" frog, Kellogg's Honey Smacks mascot, is pretty ludicrous.

Re-imagined in 1987, it appears as if Dig 'Em was supposed to capture the burgeoning mainstream New York rap scene, a la Heavy D, the Fat Boys, Biz Markee, etc. You know, silly hats and high top sneakers. Retardedly, however, Dig 'Em seemed to have a hangover from a former decade, what with his late seventies jive talk. I'd like to see him come back as a hardcore gangsta, with a bullet proof vest and baggy pants riding well below his boxer briefs. Of course, Kellog's would have to change his name to "F--k 'Em."

This is a little embarrassing, but does anyone remember
Freddy the frog on

The New Zoo Revue??? A kid's TV show?

There was that frog, an owl and some other pitiful people in
animal costumes.

It was pretty bad, but Freddy seemed like a pretty social frog.

Am I dating myself???

I don't know if these count. They're toads, not frogs. But the Tijuana Toads were cool:

Remember the show where the host said, "Plunk your magic twanger, froggie!!!" I can't remember the name of that show.

That would be Froggy The Gremlin

From the '50s Saturday AM staple, The Buster Brown Show

And I thought Howdy Doody looked funny!
