I think old style (one-nation) conservatism has always been more concerned with social stability more than the economic freedom of the state. I mean it always talked about tolerance and equality and focuses on the family in a community.

Since about the 1970s and the development of necons the conservative party doesn't bother to look at economic freedom and just focuses on the social stability of the community.

I also think the pateralistic idea of conservatism to look after people as an entity is a clear indication of its aims. Family, Monarch, Church the three most important things. Ideas?
