Last night on a radio talk show, I heard a question raised about $2 billion found in Iraq and... lost? Al Martin, a Reagan administration official turned private muckraker, tells a story about "the" $2 billion we "all heard about" with "Federal Reserve wrappers still on it" which "turned up" in Baghdad and which can no longer be tracked. The trouble is, folks, that AM radio last night was subject to the vagaries of an electrical storm so I can't give you any more details than that. In fact, I'm looking for anyone who has any information about odd story -- or dead-in-the-water story -- so I don't have to pay Al Martin's website for the info! (Obviously I didn't wind up with the $2 billion myself!)

Are you telling us we will have to count on the answer this administration give to your question in order to determine the truth???
Jeez! What a revoltin' development this is.
I wonder if they're checking to see if they all have the same serial number.
$2 billion? That's a lot of pennies, isn't it? c.i.
Two hundred billion pennies will take a long time to count. Chances are if it's the government they'll put one man on the job. That should draw it out a little.
Way past this administration? c.i.
how much did that Segway cost?
The twins evidently gave him the Segway! Evil daughters, possibly liberals..
Uh-oh, Au. You inadvertently (I hope!) made me summon up a mental picture of Bill on a Segway, Buddy loping behind (in traffic). (I can forgive Bill for the blue dress incident, but am having a hard time with his letting Buddy play in traffic... At least there's one thing about ol' Bill -- he's making money. He doesn't need to sequester $2B.)
