some here in eastern ontario : crocus almost gone , bluebells and daffodils doing well ,hyacinths starting - tulips in a week !
and the sprouting maple-seeds are driving mrs h up-the-tree - they are springing up faster than we can pull them !
she is demanding that rabbits feast on them rather than on the juicy tulip heads - but they won't listen Shocked

I planted elephant ears, coleus, sweet potato vine and lamium in a big great pot from Home Depot, complete with crack, and placed it in a shady area. Looking forward to seeing it in about two months. Very Happy

That looks really good, eoe!

I will probably plant shortly after mother's day. Might buy some plants before then though.

Happy morel-ing, cjhsa.

It's a riot as long as the weather is good. May combines morels, the opening of trout season, and turkey hunting. Life is good.

the grass (and the WEEDS !) are growing very well ; will have to cut lawn by week-end - about normal for eastern ontario .
bushes are all starting to shoot and leaves are unfolding - ACHOO ! .
plenty of wild bees zooming around our boxwood - they seem to be having a good time !
only two tulips so far - plenty more in a week - unless the rabbits get to them first !

Lovely warm weather here today, and my new plants are growing nicely. I've just watered them, no rain for quite a while.

What a difference a season makes: the same area in February

I just love looking at everyone's spread. McTag, you've got a lovely garden. And I like the neatness and clean lines of Mr. Hinteler's containers too.

Going to a new nursery today. Just read about Habersham's in the NYTimes this morning. Gotta check them out. Smile

This isn't my yard (I rent), but this is a yard down the street. It's about 20 by 35 feet and chock-filled with bulbs. Also present are shady beatues like epimedium and jacob's ladder.

My rented yard is a lot more sparse. The landlady lives in the building and I help in the garden. I don't have a lot of creative control, but I get to get my hands in the dirt, which is good. Below id one corner of the yard at my place as seen from one of my second-floor windows.

Yes, indeed, k.

I'm glad you get to get your hands in the dirt! There lies contentment & peace, I'm convinced! Very Happy

I hope (before too long) you get to create your very own own garden. Exactly as you would like it! Very Happy
