I found them along my walkway.
If you get a new camera, you would get around with it.

It's been raining for a few days here, so things are verra verra bright green and lush.

The scilla and crocusii (?) are up, the poppy leaves are massing (hooray), the lilac has set bud for the first time (yippee), and the maple tree is dropping its little bunches of florets (AHHHHHHCHOOOOOOOOOOOO).

Gotta take the camera out in the yard soon.

The unusual orange-yellow epimedium is quite happy wedged in between a retaining wall and a water feature. For those who don't know this plant - it's small, but it packs a punch. Each flower is about the size of my thumb nail, the leaves are heart shaped, it thrives in dry shade and comes in a miriad of colors.

It's where the word Marmalade comes from, lk.

Francis will correct me on this, I'm sure, but I have been reliably informed that Marmalade was originally made using Quince.

Wikipedia.....
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Marmalade

"According to the Oxford English Dictionary, "marmalade" appeared in English in 1480, borrowed from French marmelade which, in turn, came from the Portuguese marmelada. Originally, according to the root of the word, which is marmelo or quince, a preserve made from quinces was intended....."

Citrus fruits were used at a later date.

my first 'flower' of the season-

[img]http://img114.imageshack.us/img114/3769/mvc007s6lj.jpg[/IMG]

It looks some what familiar, but I dont remember the name of it.
I stumbled on the bulb that I had forgotten I packed away last year.
Dropped it in some dirt and waited. Very Happy

My orchids have bloomed as well -

I will not correct you, LE, as it's the truth as long as I know.

Maybe can I add something:

The flower of quince used to be the symbol of Aphrodite, goddess of Love.

That passed in the current language in Portuguese: Marmelada=flirting.

I would prefer quince marmalade to citrus marmalade. Especially to the traditional orange.
