My neighbour Maria's clematis earlier tonight.
gardens at night - cool angle!
The climbing rose in the front is almost at the porch roof.
The buds are just starting to show some colour.
Things are going to pop.
Soon.
growing, growing, growing.
We've been very dry and because we are on well water I have to water by hand with a watering can so as to not put too much strain on the water table. Its a balancing act, but I've been hauling lots of 2gal buckets of water around trying to keep everything alive.
The cannas are finally up and looking good. The dianthus are in full bloom, as are the roses, catmint, columbine and cranesbill. The dwarf delphinium are starting to open and the coreopsis is in full bud. The astilbe is sending up plumes and the lavender has flower buds as well. The thyme and sage are also flowering.
I did a hard pruning of the asters and mums today and sheared the tops off the remaining moss phlox, arabis, and 'Tiny Rubles' dianthus.
All is well in the garden. Now if we can just get a decent rain...
It took almost a month, but my lawn is "green" again.
Our front yard - needs to be trimmed back.
Garden is looking like this today:
Who wants to see the roses?
What are the pink ones Francis?
Of course we want to see your roses!
CJ - the previous are dog roses.
Great picture! You even captured a bee below
This is a bee taking a bath of pollen:
Gosh, the pink rose is incredible, so perfect!
Jee-sus! Those are surreally gorgeous. Sozlet said, after (literally) swooning, "I can smell them from here!"
I'm pretty much equally jealous of your camera, though. Did you already say what kind it is?
I didn't, Soz.
It's a Minolta Dimage Z2, 38-380mm.
The only problem is, that camera is quite big
and not so easy to carry around with you.
