I think, Asherman, that you are displaying your extended pout which has lead you to comment unfavorably on my posts since i disagreed with you vehemently on the issue of Israel and the Lebanon. That doesn't bother me, though, as it was predicated upon a mischaracterization of what i had written--in short, a lie about what i had written about Hezbollah. Since you never bothered to respond to my bland statement that i had not said about Hezbollah what you claimed, i can only assume that it was a willful mischaracterization on your part.

You have quoted me directly. Therefore, i'll address your silly ellipsis here by asking you if you think i attempt to "exclude" any member here, and if so, precisely how you claim that i do so, or even could do so. Put up or shut up, i'm sick of your whining.

If you think i, or anyone else can exclude a "member in good standing," perhpas you be so good as to explain the process. If you don't like the tone of my response here, keep in mind that you asked for when you quoted me.

Maybe I should clarify what I meant by A2K community. I don't think someone needs to indicate a desire to meet personally in order to be an active and welcome part of A2K. In many respects this is just the internet and internet relationships take many forms. Those who have made personal connections are certainly looking to do that and others are not - lack of socialability does not make someone a troll, IMO.

This has gotten way off track. The intent of this thread was certainly not to air dirty laundry, or to facilitate personal squabbles. Therefore, i will bow out of this, and not make any more comments here about any member, including the member referred to in the initiatory post.

As for Asherman shooting off his big mouth about me--he should have the decency not to clutter this thread, and if he has a problem, and the courage, he can start a thread on that topic. Or, he can send me personal messages so he can whine about how offended he is that i would disagree with him.

My apologies, Thomas, for any part i've played in derailing your thread.

Finally, not only does this member not act as a member of a community--he has specifically posted in the past that he would never attend a gathering of members of this site because of the contempt he entertains for all of us. I don't think that member shows any indication of wishing to be a part of the community at large, and i see him only as a pimply-faced prepubescent clown who comes here to throw stink bombs.

Of course there are members of "our community" who go out of their way to exclude other members in good standing with the community because of their own prejudices. Are they all that much better than the trolls whose enjoyment is kicking sand in everyone's faces?

Yes. Of course they are.

It is surprising that you even need to ask such a question. Surely an august Genteelman such as yourself can differentiate between ideological differences and inappropriate behaviours?

Ah, two more whiners heard from.

I have been informed by private message the source of Asherman's latest psychotic episode. Given that he quoted me, and given that i am not privy to his childish personal resentments of others, i consider it reasonable to criticize him for not making it clear that his remarks did not refer to me.

I can think of quite a few people around here who need to get over themselves . . . beginning with Tico-"Look, Look, I'm Perry Mason"-maya, Snood and Asherman . . .

Don't get this thread locked, potential future poster reading this...

This is pretty much the only successful meta-A2K thread we've had in the politics forum in years. I think it is quite helpful for the different members of the community to gather and discuss ways of dealing with issues that arise. Don't spoil it, we need more threads such as this one

I might have been able to honor that if the stink-bomb throwers had not shown up . . . just as is the case with you, Tico "I wish i were Perry Mason" Maya and Snood cannot resist attempting to take swipes at those against whom you have conceived a grudge. That's OK by me, and i'll give as good as i get.

I'll just say that the first part of this thread was brilliant, and I've taken a lot of good advice on board, having recently been a "snapper" and lowering myself to the level of my protagonist.

I'll just blank it out of my mind in future, and move on.

No, it's not him - it's all those who are "whiners" and "pouters" who "have a grudge against him".

C'mon - Setanta's never, ever wrong, or the offender, or oversteps, or overstates, or anything. It's always- ALWAYS the other guy or gal.

As long as you keep that straight, you and he can get along, "Boss".

I don't know the source of your sour attitude, but i can assure you, i equally don't care.
