Can you explain to me why so many churches host/sponsor money-making bingo games in which lottery tickets are sold by church volunteers wandering the aisles of bingo tables?

If you don't consider bingo gambling, what distinguishes the jackpots won in bingo games from the jackpots won at poker tables?

I don't understand your logic, here. In this example the casinos did not break the law. In fact, the casinos were the victims. By your logic, wouldn't you also be against banks and 7-11's?

I think we've pretty much painted AM into a corner. I'm curious to see if she'll admit defeat to the logic we've lain out and possibly change some of her beliefs or if she'll fall back to her position of "I vote this way because I think it's the right way to vote and that all I'm going to say about that".

Rather than wagging your finger at her and pointing out all the "nonsense" why not ask her some thought-provoking questions that might lead her toward her own revised conclusions?

I'm a child of the 60's (as is Arella). I for one, usually dig in my heels and refuse to budge whenever someone like "the establishment" wags their fingers at me. Spend a moment rapping with me and ask some exploratory questions and I'm most eager to participate and learn something new.

Yeah, you are exactly the type of person I feel really comfortable having a conversation with NOT!

You just don't get it, do you? And you think I'm dense? Look, in the case of same sex marriage in Louisiana THERE IS NO RIGHT established so I am taking away nothing in voting no. I doubt we will even get to vote on this issue. It was just a discussion but you seem to have taken it quite personally (I undertand why concerning the gambling because you told us).

If you would, in any way, try to restrict my right to vote the way I SEE FIT to vote with MY vote, then yes, you would be trying to take away my right. Like I said, what makes your right more important than mine?

I think the only difference here is I am willing to accept that we have a due process and I'm willing to abide by it and not degrade others for their choices. Doesn't make either of us superior, more right, or anything. It just makes us different.
