Well, one nice day and I'm thinking it might be a good time to make appointments for some summertime primping. You know, getting the nails painted, the hair ripped out - fun stuff like that. The problem is, I normally don't do these things, so I'm drifting in a sea of salons.

Where do you go for you manicures, pedicures, and waxes? I hate going into Newbury Street and like to stay local, but please share all your recommendations for others.

I will make my first recommendation, recommended to me by littlek. Diego hair salon in Harvard Square, Cambridge. Michelle does a great job, especially for those of us with straight-as-a-pin fine hair.

I haven't been to Diegos in Harvard Square - just Newbury. I used to go to Mitchell John on Broad Street. Only problem is the obstacle course a/k/a Big Dig! They are on the Atlantic Ave end kind of near Il Pinino.

Sug, near Diego is a salon that does manicures, pedicures, (I think they do waxing), facials...... I think it's called Sasha...? It run by and staffed with Russian women. It's across the little side street that Diego's is on in the Staples building - second floor.

OK Slappy, I know my nails and mine are naturall! The chick on Broad Street used to work at Gensis at the Market and I followed her... and yes, she is Russian. The fake nail girls I work with love her too... very natural looking. BUT my latest and geatest is on Pearl Street... the guys there work miracles ladies and guys ... and the likes of Slappy... hair styling, hair removal, hair....well, we will leave that blank... nails, pedicures, etc. Will give name/address if anyone requests.
