wait, it isn't Clem having the baby - it's her buddy!

I get the two mixed up because they appear to be the same deer at times...Clem has a few markings on her side that are a bit different from most of the other deer, plus her coloring is a lighter roan.

Hi ya all!

Maggie just sent me a wonderful e mail from her friend Wendy from the website 'Wendy's World' - with photos of Wendy's herd of deer, names of her buddies, plus terrific photos of Wendy and hubby interacting with the deer herd. Marvelous!

Clems buddy who i've named 'Lyn' is still here, and last evening, she decided to check out the porch, and stood just a few feet from where i was standing! The male deer, who was guarding the new babies just a few weeks ago, strolls through the neighborhood also. He grazes during the evening hours though - but isn't quite as friendly as Clem or Lyn - with good reason. Beautiful animal, gosh - protective of the babies and keeping watch from a distance - he's quite amazing.

Today, after errands and such, i'll attempt transfering some of the photos maggie sent, if thats ok - Mags. Please advise.

Well, that's the news so far today. Ya know, its the wonderful miracles in life that make everything worth the trip.

I've a favor to ask everyone. A friend from works daughter just gave birth to a lovely little girl. A problem arose shortly after her birth, the baby's having difficulty breathing. Please send good wishes and prayers for the darling newborn, her mamma and family. Thanks all ~

g'day all ~

Thanks everyone for your good thoughts and prayers!

Spoke with my friend yesterday and she said her grandaughter receiving the best care available, but there is still no news regarding what the obstruction to the baby's airwaves is! Docs took x-rays yesterday, and we're hoping today they'll have some idea of what to do for little face.
Oh, they've ruled out any sort of heart problems, a definite plus!

Will keep ya posted, and thanks again for your prayers. I don't know why, but it seems when the universe needs calling, this is the place where voices seem to be the loudest!

God Bless You All ~

Thanks Dan! Smile

ul, found an interesting article at the Monarch Butterfly site.

Now whooda thunk that after hurricanes, birds and monarchs found themselves not only riding the currents, but landing on shores not indiginous to their species!

Monarchs were seen in Cornwall, United Kingdom (UK) on Sept. 22 and 23. The sightings were all on the coast, on the Lands End Peninsular, the same place where North American vagrant birds are usually seen. Hurricane Floyd was, I imagine, responsible for these sightings.
At the same time as the Monarchs were seen, a North American bird also appeared. (The bird was a Common Nighthawk. It was seen on the Isles of Scilly. Common Nighthawks are rare, North American vagrants to these shores.) One monarch was seen at Nanquidno on the 22nd, and other individuals were seen at Porthgwarra and Sennen. Another sighting on the 23rd was on St.Marys - the largest of the Isles of Scilly which are 28 miles West of Lands End. These reports are all from the West of Cornwall but, at the time of writing, reports are starting to come in from the east of the county. Monarch sightings in this country are mainly attributed to North American migrants that have blown over here, and a few escapees from butterfly farms. This 1995 article sums up the general consensus of opinion of how monarchs arrive in the UK: See: The Monarch invasion of Great Britain, 1995.

A 'migrating' hawk!
