Tsongas for president

Paul Tsongas a dead social liberal and economic conservative must be better than a living republican. He was especially known for his pro-business economic policies that have come to be embraced by many in the modern Democratic Party. In particular, he focused on the United States budget deficit and its harmful effects, a cause he continued to champion after his primary campaign ended by co-founding The Concord Coalition.

He was the "I'm not Santa Clause" guy, right?

I dunno... I think the last thing the Dems need is to drift further toward "pro-business" policies. The Bush policy of giving away tax cuts to the ultra rich and even telling auditors to stop going after cheating companies should have been more "pro-business" than anyone needed for a coupla decades. If anything, it calls for the opposite reaction - for the Dems taking a stand, bringing the government-business cronyism into the limelight, and defending the interests of the man in the street instead.

If I vote, I'll be called up for jury duty. Is that fair?

Would more people vote if their party registration did not put them on the jury duty list? Maybe a change is in order.

I followed Tsongas when he tried to find bipartisan solutions to our problems. Would have voted for him if he ran. By the time he gained a national spot light, he was already ill. To his good fortune, they cured him of cancer. On the down side, they killed his liver in the process.

I loved Kucinich in Wizard of Oz. You know, that whole Lollipop Guild thing.

I liked Tsongas too, when he was alive. I remember reading his book, and thinking what a great guy he was.

What this country needs is a social liberal and economic conservative. I am sick of the right wing bible thumpers who spend like drunken sailors, and have seemed to forget that they are supposed to be in favor of a small government!

Seriously, it sounds like something yuppies would be into.

"Hey, let's all go out for Tsongas."

or

"Tonight I have Tsongas class at the gym."

or

"What kind of dogs are those. Tsongas?"
