Researching a photographer's name, Daido Moriyama, which I saw on a website about another fellow, I ran across a photography gallery with a whole passel of interesting photographers, most of whom I've never heard of.
I'm still working my way through the list of photographers myself, but wanted to share the link -

New names to me, though I love the idea of Vilma Slomp. A great name for afuture novel by Thos. Pynchon!
I've looked through about half of them now. Have seen several photos I can envision as screensavers..
Well, if I were a person of wealth, or with a reasonable bank account, I'd be a photography collector. As it is, I've hoarded photography books.
Here is one i found a few days ago.

Oh boy, I'm going to like that one - just started looking at the landscape section.
Detano, can you check your pm's. I can't send you another since you haven't read one.
Meantime I'm going to go look up Vilma Slomp..
One of the greatest: Alfred Eisenstaedt.

Jeanloup Sieff is astonishing too.
I looked up Vilma, nice..
looked up Eisenstadt, who I've seen work of before, but hadn't seen the waiter on ice, or the soldier's feet.
Now to look up Sieff..
Neat site, once I got used to it.
Favorite so far is the two swans in the landscape, satisfying photo.
