Hmm..we'd give you both a good goddam run for your money. I do think the US would likely win on points, though.

I confess, I get grouchy every now & then with the British ..... as a result of being one of the pink bits on those old maps & having to swear allegiance to a strange foreign woman (with an obsession with corgies!) for years & years, & years! .... It was never nice being part of another country's "empire"! <sob>
However, at other times I adore the British! (very confusing, hey? Confused ) Especially when they bring us stuff like this:

No one else on the planet could do it so well! Brilliant! Bravo!

.... And, I've gotta add, I'm eternally grateful to the Brits for taking Rolf to their bosoms & taking him off our hands! Ha!

I'm sorry is this the five minute argument, or the full half hour?

Oh, I thought it was because our poor old Auntie (first cousin of your BBC) was so impoverished these days that she couldn't afford to buy the better comedies. (We have re-runs of re-runs or re-runs of Yes Minister, Basil & co .... Sad Rolling Eyes ) Are you saying the days of the brilliant Brit comedies are gone with the wind, Steve? Tell me it isn't true! Sad

not exactly Little Britain makes me laugh.

But seriously I did think comedy was britains only claim to fame. I dont think we are in the top echelon anymore. Perhaps with rugby and cricket though Smile

I used to enjoy Drop The Dead Donkey & Black Books quite a while ago .... but lately, not much at all. You're right. I'm waiting with baited breath for the coming (black comedy) series based on Blair & the New Labour experience, though. Lots of fertile material there, you have to agree! But too early & a bit too raw & painful right now, I guess?

Does anyone here remember the short-lived series "Sandbaggers"? I loved that show.
