I'm finding this thread quite revealing

As we do and not only this one.

It's just like a pub on the social side. If you go in a local pub every night for a few years things are revealed which never are to those who are picky and choosy looking for novelty and have almost anonymous social interaction.

One would never be so silly as to think one's own pub is unique and on Friday nights at swingtime I often meditate on the 60,000 other pubs which I know are not quite exactly like the one in front of me.

And one notices trends. I've watched the mobile phone craze from there to here in one pub.

The only people who's names I don't know are passing strangers.

So I know about revelations a bit. Quiz nite is a hoot. Top of the class with a cash prize. Beautiful. The carrot and the sugar lump. (Hey-that's a good title. Are you a writer ros? You can have it for free. )or ( Me no like stick).

spot on smorgs. some artistes cannot handle rejection or what crits say.

Still TV, movie, paintings & so on go on & on wittering away about all manor of things on display to the public. I often think that Kritix know sweet FA about anything or they would be "CREATORS" & not "DISTROYERS"

I gave up recording stuff years ago. I never watched any of it. Today was always too interesting. Yesterday's programmes are a bit like yesterday's fish and chips. You would have them if you were desperate enough.

Desperate? That sounds just like me.

I watch a proportion of the programmes I record, but not all, I confess.

But I'll deffo watch these two. And The Sopranos gets repeated on Saturday or Sunday but I'll be away.

Good morning everybody. I see I raised a storm of apathy with my rant about Jeremy Clarkson and his works.

Actually, I love Jeremy Clarkson. I always watch Top Gear (even the reruns) if I am at home when it is playing (and I am not errr.ummm....engaged otherwise) - I have read (and own) all his books, and his article is the first thing which is read when my Sunday Times arrives.

I love his political incorrectness (which I think is realism), his wit, his humor and his style.

I love driving fast cars, offroaders, and I am, by habit a fast, but very careful driver.

When I grow up, I want to be like Clarkson

Do you still love me McTag?

I do hope Richard makes a full recovery - TG won't be the same without him

I listened to the man that barracked on the radio today, he was being interviewed along with a moderate Muslim woman M.P.

It was unbearable...

He refused to acknowledge her as a Muslim, said she was 'half naked and didn't know how to wash properly'

Yet he teaches young children at the Mosque every week!

When you teach religious fundamentalism of any kind, it IS child abuse...

You restrict their opportunities and make their 'world' so narrow and unchanging...

It's teaching obedience, not exploration.
exactly and I heard the same nutter (Abu Izzadeen) interviewed later on the Today programme

here

http://www.bbc.co.uk/radio4/today/listenagain/

if you want to hear it

summary

Reid and Blair are murderers and tyrannical crusaders

Queen Elizabeth is not sovereign

He's not a democrat, he's a muslim

He's very very very angry

Unless Blair wakes up and smells the coffee the muslims will not stand for it any longer

9/11 and 7/7 were justified (nb he was clever enough not to say this, just agreed with a poll saying thats what 25% of British muslims thought)

He wants sharia law now in the UK, because the UK belongs to Allah (or was it someone called Alan...he spoke so damn quick... must check on anyone called Alan who claims to own the UK...)

He wants to impose sharia law by Islamic means.

Interviewer....Why dont you go and live in Saudi Arabia?

Mr Abu... (outraged) So its forced mass deportations now is it?

..................................................

I stick by my contention that this man is a dangerous nutter.

However it could be that he was a plant, used to show up the pathetic nature of the Islamists cause.

Pretty sneaky the way he used the word "groom" there. Not usually heard in this context.
That's evil, in my view. As if things weren't bad enough, without allusions to paedophilia.
Weaselly words, just what we expect from a politician.

Cant agree with you there Taggers. Grooming is exactly what these nutters do. Not for sex but something worse. Either way its child abuse imo.

Yeah but I think it's unnecessary and sleazy. And certainly deliberate. What's wrong with using the good old standby word "brainwashing"?
well maybe the word grooming was carefully chosen to antagonise...I wouldnt put it past them. But grooming or brainwashing, the message to muslim parents that they should watch out for dangerous signs in their kids was always going to be offensive to some. Pity the Pope wasnt invited.

How much more British could this thread get?

A hint of smut and I throw off any pretence at serious posting - and shout 'let's all look at the porn!'
