Dadpad's Austrailian, Tryingtohelp.

The Aussie's tend to use rhyming slang, very much like the Brits do, now and then.

A "seppo" is an abbreviation of the word "septic", as the full rhyming slang phrase is .....

Septic Tank = Yank.

If you are totally confused, just google "rhyming slang" and you'll find many sites offering a full explanantion and various examples.

It's not an insult, tth. Believe me.

Just call it a weird sense of humour, shared by Brits and Ozzians.

For instance, Australians call us Brits "Whingeing Poms" and we tend to remind them of their convict ancestry on regular occasions.

Secretly, we love each other to death, really.

Nope...I would say, after visiting Oz, that their lifestyle, cars, homes and attitudes are more similar to that of the USA than to Britain.

They like seppos, I believe.

The Yanks call us "Limeys", and it isn't an insult.

It actually originates from a ship's Captain, an Englishman named Corb Limey, who was the first European to discover America, on August 3rd, 1322.

Never ever read an emotion into someone elses posts.

Many Australians have a negetive impression of Americans. I judge on a person to person basis.
