Well, Baroli won - not sure quite what went wrong with Lisicki's game (nerves?) - but it was a bit of a damp squib, not the fire and passion one might have hoped for. Bartoli played well, despite that, and is a worthy winner - glad she won the trophy. Let's hope it doesn't set Lisicki back too far - she's a great player, just not today.

Not at all: she'll jump up in the ranking quite a bit! (To number 18 [up from 23 today] on 8 July 2013)
@Walter Hinteler,
I don't know a great deal about either player, but she certainly deserves to do so. Loved her matches all through the tournament.
@vonny,
Well, I've donned my kilt and "See you Jimmy" hat, poured a wee snifter and salted me nuts.
COME ON ANDY!!
@Lordyaswas,
COME ON NOVAK (and how do you do big letters on here?)
Amazing come back for Murray in the second set.
He's improved in so many ways.
@panzade,
Always complaining about the bad British weather, but now, in beautiful sunshine, everyone is inside and watching BBC1 ... or sitting on Murray Mountain
Way to go Andy! He left no doubt/#1
@panzade,
Yes, way to go, Andy. (And aw, Djoko)
@Walter Hinteler,
WOW, THANK YOU! Been curious about that for ages!
@Walter Hinteler,
Er - how did you put the big red arrow on the image? Or is the reply too technical?
@vonny,
With my copy-software (program).
I think, with many (free) you can do it.
@Walter Hinteler,
uh uh - too technical ... but thanks for answering my question
@panzade,
What a trip. Good entertainment. Murray finally gets his big win but he had get through Djokovic and one of toughest matches. Especially that last set.
Some Internet buzz about BBC broadcaster John Inverdale. Inverdale is usually pretty dismissive of women't tennis but he has to cover Wimbledon once a year. His comments on Bartoli's win and her determination on the court:
John Inverdale wrote:I just wonder if her dad, because he has obviously been the most influential person in her life, did say to her when she was 12, 13, 14 maybe, "listen, you are never going to be, you know, a looker. You are never going to be somebody like a Sharapova, you're never going to be 5ft 11, you're never going to be somebody with long legs, so you have to compensate for that.”
Besides being insulting to Bartoli, it's pretty insulting to Sharapova who is known as one of the toughest fighters in tennis.
@panzade,
Yeah, I read about that. What a tool. Also read Bartoli handled it well.
@ossobuco,
Both her and her father handled it well. If I were her father I would have been asking the guy about what advice he gave to his daughters (he has two). It was probably something like "you're not a looker to get a rich guy so study hard in school".
