Thanks Eoe, I have been there a few times in the past and it is always a good time, we already have the spot for the volleyball net and horseshoes.

Well, sublime, you're at the age now where you're building your

I think even a stepford wife would require more maintenance than a good Capresso albeit more functions.

Just wait til I have a log cabin there in five years! The pier/deck is planned for next summer and will be a great place for morning coffee.

I don't think joe meant it that way and unfortunately the Cubbies aren't doing anything that would require such a title.

Any other suggestions or tips for someone that is new to the world of septic systems and wells?

Make sure that you know the difference between the two.

Keep a few gallons of bottled water on hand. Well pumps require electricity - no power, no water. You can flush with water from the river if you have to, but having some drinking water on hand is a good idea.

When's the next bus?

I would make a great house guest...

I can cook...

Mend things... er? like socks and things

I'm good a just generally gazing at men whilst they hammer things...

And I'm English! And therefore have great manners!

Here's the next bus and you are definitely more than worthy of being a house guest.

You're right Walter how could I forget my manners, of course I would pick her up in Chicago and drive her there myself.

Yep thats what made it a bargain, all the utilities are run including a propane tank. The pump on the well is three years old, no idea about the septic system. I was wondering what kind of maintenance they require.

That's awesome, congrats! I've toyed with the idea of buying something like that, but I don't think it's worth it yet, I'd want to commit all my weekends away to justify the expense, which I know wouldn't happen. There's tons of stuff like that up in NH.

Thanks Slappy.

The thing that sold me was that it was ready made. I was looking in Wisconsin at first but it was too expensive or too far or it was just wooded acreage. This is just an hour and a half outside Chicago and there is enough land to build something much bigger in the future so I jumped on it. It was also less than most of the wooded lots I saw in WI.

Ha! Just try to get out of Chicagoland and into Michigan in an hour and on a Friday night or Saturday morning in the summertime! We'll have to leave pretty early in the morning Cool
