U.S. Rep. Charlie Norwood made no bones about it: He wanted to hear from people who shared his point of view on immigration.

"What I wanted was witnesses who agree with me, not disagree with me," Norwood said after presiding over an immigration hearing Tuesday in Gainesville.

On Wednesday, the Augusta Republican took center stage over two congressional colleagues at a hearing in Dalton, telling a federal bureaucrat with whom he didn't agree that he would be calling her boss to complain.

Alison Siskin, an immigration specialist with the Congressional Research Service, said studies have been unclear about whether illegal immigrants have had much impact on government health care.

This is simply unbelievable, and I hope they pay dearly in November!

The majority of Americans want a comprehensive immigration bill now, and the majority say they will accept a path to legalization for immigrants who have been here a long time and have ties and familes. The Republicans refuse to even bring such a bill to a vote, choosing instead this dog and pony show they are calling immigration "hearings"

So what is the purpose of these hearings?

Charlie Norwood says it best... they only want to hear from people that agree with them.

Republicans are completely out of touch. Let's vote them out in November!

The only people I hope get voted out are the illegal aliens who have broken the law to be here and work here. I'm happy with the current govt we have and don't hope to see a big change in the make up. There are just enough Dems to keep the Reps in check and vice versa. We get more Dems then Reps and we will start to see way to many socialist ideas begin to take effect. We need to move away from them.
