New York Daily News Sportswriter Mike Lupica has long been known as one of the funniest and best writers around. His Sunday column, Shooting From The Lip, is basically a collection of one liners and short comments on a variety of sports and sometimes non-sports subjects. Every now and then, he takes the time to throw in some general interest comments, such as he does here. As usual, he hits the mark directly.
Quote:Boy, the Republicans sure did get sweet on Sen. Joe Lieberman all of a sudden.
He's probably wondering where all the love was back in 2000 when the same guys stole an election from him and Gore.
All these yahoos who come rushing to defend George Bush's war in Iraq when an anti-war guy like Ned Lamont wins a primary in Connecticut - when do you suppose they'll be lined up to have their own kids go fight?
And you always have to ask why a big, tough war guy like Cheney set a world's record for draft deferments when he had the chance to go pick up a gun.
His boss kept Alabama safe when he was a young buck.

All good points which have been raised earlier and more often (and in a more erudite fashion, to boot) here on A2K. Nice to see the mainstream media finally getting with the program.
