If Bush would show interest in the press corps, he would have known about the vision problem.
The journalists have enough restraint not to make fun of the simpleton.

Bush blind-sided by gaffe.
.
President George W Bush, who often teases members of the White House press corps, has apologised for poking fun at a reporter for wearing sunglasses without realising they were needed for vision loss.
.
The exchange occurred at a news conference in the Rose Garden.
.
Bush called on Los Angeles Times reporter Peter Wallsten and asked if he was going to ask his question with his "shades" on.

Bush then refused to answer a question from a reporter with only one leg saying "you're not going to ask me a question with only one leg are you?"

Then it is high time we are reading it now. Remember Bush standing on a very big ship, under a very big sign that said: Mission accomplished.
.
That is quite an old story too.

And then, afterwards at lunch, he asked a waiter who had no arms and no legs what the specials were, to which the waiter replied: "I dunno, I'm stumped."

And then he didn't let the kid with Down's syndrome beat him at Scrabble.

He still lost, but it wasn't for lack of effort.

And when the waiter with no arms and no legs fell into the soup vat, Bush yelled, "Bob!"

The White House Press Corps have acted as guard-dogs for the American people. And, Bush has neglected them. Or perhaps was even hostile to them. And then.....

Quote:
Slaughter linked Guckert's case to recent revelations that two conservative columnists who supported Bush administration policies had received government money.

"It appears that 'Mr. Gannon's' presence in the White House press corps was merely as a tool of propaganda for your administration," Slaughter wrote.
