Great Attitude About Being Laid Off

That story brought a smile to my face. At the end of last year I was laid off. The day before there was an impromptu supervisor's meeting at the next desk. One of the managers John asked a question re: policy. There was some standing around and since I knew the answer I blurted it out. Since I wasn't a supervisor John reminded me forcefully he wanted the supervisor's to answer. Properly rebuffed I went back to my work.
After the meeting I looked for John to apologize. Couldn't find him. Anyway the next day I was let go. This was unrelated to what had happened with John. As I was cleaning out my desk John and two other managers came over to say goodbye. During the talking I told John I had looked for him to tell him I was sorry. He waved it off to say it didn't matter. "Anyway" I said "I promise I'll never do it again."
All three broke up and it made the leaving much easier for all of us.

LMAO!! That's great, BobSmyth! I'm sure that John was very happy to hear you joke about it. I'm a fellow lay-offee, too, and didn't take it so well at first -- so I'm trying to make up for lost time and take the bad market well now. I love these kinds of stories!
