Selling of American Taxpayer Funded Property

Somewhere way back I also posted somewhere on here about the selling off of our national forests to logging companies. American logging companies. So, it isn't really about a fear of foreigners or being able to blame them for failed policy. At least it isn't on my part.

I don't happen to trust the government to do what is in the public interest, or any claims that what they are doing is better for the taxpayer when someone is profiting from something that belongs to the public. I've become a little cynical that way.

Again, I don't think many people know this is happening, let alone how to monitor it.

Squinney, while I stand by my stance on the economic logic of selling off bridges and highways, I would certainly share your cynicism about the government's abiltilty to enter into these deals in "above board" negotiations aimed at getting a fair price. I hasten to add that I am not singling out the current administration for the declining public trust in our government.
Si, in my mind, the concept has merit, but the execution is flawed.

Hey, johnboy. Yeah, came back in March. Bear was unbearable without me. Have a new job that I love that keeps me closer to home and 9-5 for the most part. Wish we'd had a chance to meet.

You probably know more about the Pocahontas parkway exchange. Looks like it was privately funded after being designated an interstate project and being approved for federal funds.
