I don't think Canadians are alone. Feels like lots of folks are taking their shots at us ugly Americans. Can't say that I blame them, but it doesn't feel good all the same.

Largely, I'd say you nailed it here.


One problem here is that Canadians cannot help but notice the Americans--all too often the biggest bully on the block, it would be unwise not to keep an eye on them. Americans, however, living as often do in a world of their own, can remain sublimely ignorant of Canada (and the rest of the world, too, for that matter), and suffer nothing as a result.
