Thankfully, most polls show that teenage drinking is on the decline. What with stricter enforcement of the underage drinking laws and all, alcohol isn't as easy to obtain as it was when I was a pup. Now six-year-olds smoke marijuana and snort cocaine, both readily available in any schoolyard. Progress.

Hmmmm...not necessarily, not the marijuana they are smoking ( a totally different beast from what we used).

Re cocaine I am not so sure....

When I was a teenager I smoked marijuana, drank alcohol and had sex. But I was 16 when I started those things -- not 6!

All complicated, of course, by the likelihood that teenage habitual alcohol/other drug abusers are also more likely to have experienced a less nurturing family/social environment, (taken en masse...not true of everyone, of course) which has already likely affected the optimum development of their wee brainlets...
