Audiences will soon be taking their seats for the first time at a £6 million temporary theatre.

The Royal Shakespeare Company has built the 1,000-seater Courtyard Theatre on a car park in Stratford.

It took just 11 months to build and will open on July 7 for the start of Shakespeare's Henry VI trilogy.

The entire structure will be dismantled in four years' time when major building work is completed on the Royal Shakespeare Theatre.

Until then, it will be home to the world-famous theatre company.

Very impressive, Walter. Not far from where I live is another Stratford (on Avon). It has four theatres and is probably the top Shakespearian place in North America.
