What kind of toys the western children like best?

I'm a mother who hates Bratz dolls. Thankfully, my five year old son doesn't show any interest in them at all.

His favorite toys are model trains. He also likes toy trucks.

My friends daughter likes Bratz, luckily she is turning out well, but those dolls just make me think of badly behaved little girls.

In the States, as in China, the age of the child makes an enormous difference in the toys s/he prefers.

I'm not an expert on the Bratz dolls, but it seems to me that any society (or family) that makes an institution of misbehavior is asking for trouble.
If a little girl wants a doll to be bratty, she can manage this herself without a toy company's help.
