Hey cyphercat that gives me an idea!

What about a s'mores type thing. I could get some of that marshmallow fluff stuff, spread it on and top with a graham cracker square.

Each cookie would end up being the size of a quarter graham cracker which is just about right.

That's a cool idea! (Although that marshmallow fluff is so damned controversial these days...could turn the picnic ugly...)

I've been trying to discover what happens to this fluff stuff if you chill it.

If I spread it on, pressed on a graham cracker and chilled it up before cutting into bars would the fluff hold it's shape for a while or would it start getting all oozy right away?

I am unfamiliar with fluff as food! Why is it controversial?

Linkat has a thread about it, the "attack on fluffernutters" one...apparently there is some school serving it at lunch, and some people disapprove, that kind of thing...I think it's triggering people's "Don't you tell me how to raise my kids!" reflex.

Spread peanut butter on one brownie. Cover with another brownie. Eat. Repeat.

You could even let people make their own if you wanted. They will not require refrigeration (uh, the brownie sandwiches, I mean. I can't speak for whether the people will need refrigeration).

Get some canned cream cheese frosting and make sandwich cookies out of them. Voila! Room-temperature finger food that everyone will like...

GREAT thread title!

I was gonna suggest mini-marshmellows sprinkled on top, and toasted under the broiler.

Crumble onto icecream.

Use as a wafer in icecream.

Sorry sweetie, no help from me, but thank you for the pleasant flashback to the brownies I used to make while living in San Francisco in the 60's. Ooooooo yuuuummm.

Funny how we would get the munchies after eating my brownies.....

My brownies were supposed to be pimped without refridgeration people!

I have decided to repurpose the brownies for a 4th of July event. I think I'm going to go with the ice cream sandwich idea. I might hit Coffee People for some of their absurd bananna ice cream for the filling.

I made up for the missing brownies by making several other delectable treats.

Now I'm gonna go have to bum a joint of my neighbor.....

Boomer! The talent is beyond belief. Anytime you're in NM, come on by and I'll see if I remember that recipe.
