Wake up: the American Dream is over

Even America's richest think they're getting too many tax breaks from a government determined to keep the poor in their place. As poverty in the US grows, Paul Harris wonders what happened to the Land of Opportunity...

Throughout history, despots have always sought to eliminate the middle class, as it is from the middle class that challenges to oligarchy arise. Both the American and French Revolutions were initiated and funded by business owners against the hereditary rulers. The USSR was based on a system that tricked the poor into helping prevent the middle class from the start, which is why the USSR survived without a revolution until it simply collapsed.
