Silicon Valley - Where to stay

I'm considering relocating within the Silicon Valley area and am taking an exploratory trip in mid-June. Any recommendations on which towns might be best to stay in and/or avoid? (Specific hotels under $100/night also appreciated!)

Try expedia.ca (it's not exclusivly for canada and canadians ya know.)
