See http://www.cnn.com/ for details as they become available.

The NYTimes this morning mentioned that Donald Evans, former Commerce Secretary and another Texan, is being considered as Snows replacement. Just what we need, another Texan, two of them were convicted yesterday for the collapse of Enron.

Well, I wouldn't pin the actions of a few people on an entire state.

Here's a link to the story re Gonzalez threatening to quit: http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/05/27/jefferson.fbi/index.html

The thinking seems to be that Paulson has a life independent of this administration and is more likely to standup agains at least the more outrageous economic excesses of Bush et al. Besides which Paulson is taking a major pay cut and can always go back to making money if the radical Republicans make it to uncomfortable for him Also in terms of its economic behavior the US is in such bad repute among foreign bankers, governments and economists that Bush needs Paulson more then Paulson needs Bush.
