What are the best detergents for removing grease stains from T-shirts?

Dawn brand dish soap has saved many shirts from permanent greasy stains.

I just put a drop on the shirt, rub it in and it can set for a while.
before I put it in the wash, I rinse the soap out, and wash as normal.

It has never failed me, but then again, the grease stains have never set in the fabric, and they have not been heavy stuff.. like motor oil.

Usually paints, or olive oil.

Have you tried pre-treating with a paste of regular laundry soap?

The shirt is sitting in Tide right now. If this doesn't work, I'll make a paste of Tide. I hope the Tide doesn't eat a hole in the shirt.
