Awwww, thanks. That was very sweet of you to say.

Got ya on the good feed being expensive and hard to find. There are more than a few farm supply places around here, so I'm going to start checking feed prices and such.
I would have a little house for the chickens with a good size fenced in area where they would be free to run around that area.
I'll probebly have to have it fenced in at the top as well, to protect them from the game birds.

Right now, i'm cooking hamburgers from meat which i took out of the original packaging about ten days ago, and re-wrapped, then put in the fridge. Now that it has aged to the point that it's starting to turn funny colors, it's prime for a big juicy hamburger. YUM YUM ! ! !

Overhead fencing keeps out other predators, as well, who can climb "chicken wire." Also, hens will try to fly up higher and higher to roost, and could get out. I don't know how big an area you inted to fence in, but pecking and scratching and defecation will soon remove the grass.

Make sure and save all your "seeds" to feed to them. That way, you will have some pot in every chicken.

I don't think anyone has said anything anti-meat here, just complaints about how the animals are kept while they're still alive.

Wow Set...those free range chicken farmers are sneaky bastids....calling them FR because their cage is 2 inches bigger.

If god didn't want us to eat animals, why did he make them out of meat?

OK, so bottom line, if the chicken is a virgin and was brought up in some sort of chicken nirvana....it's ok to eat its eggs?

If you still say no, how about if you were willing to provide grief counseling to the chicken?

Not too big, but not small either. I want them to have plenty of room to be happy :-)

I DO have all that covered, so I guess that means I'm ready to burn down my very first abortion clinic, hurrah!! Even though I don't quiiiiite see the connection, I'm going to burn it down anyway! Wish me luck!

That poor chicken is so not happy! I'll know my chickens are happy because I will get them all as little chicks, care for them and love them, so they won't know anything other than being happy.
And by the time they grow up, I will know them all quite well and I'll be able to tell when they're smiling, just like I can tell when my cat is smiling :-D

And we get eaten... by other animals, by worms and bugs and bacteria and viruses... matter/energy can not be created nor destroyed... just recycled.
