Nah... pineapple on pizza is an abomination.
Here's something I've had not too long ago... egg pizza! It had a hard boiled egg, quartered, around the edges. And in the center they just droped an egg (broken yolk) before it went into the oven. Baked egg along with baked pizza. Different, anyway.
But my fave is eggplant.
My fav topping is pineapple, mushrooms, sweet corn and green chillies.....
I am wierd.
Okay. then I take it back. Pineapple on pizza isn't an abomination.
It's deviant!
(insert smilie face here)
Ahem... Actually, I gotta say that pineapple on a four cheeses pizza can be really delish! The sweetness of the fruit, the spicy gorgonzola, and the salty parmeggiano!
But then, on the other hand, I can truly kill for a pizza with canned tuna and onions, and please make that one piccante!
One of my all time favorite pizzas is made with a garlicky white sauce, fresh rosemary, diced chicken, paper thin sliced potatoes and sweet onions topped with smokey gouda cheese. YUM!
Butrflynet....that sounds really good...I love deeply caramelized onions on pizza, slow-cooked and mahogony brown...smoked and blue cheeses are also favorites. Paper-thin sliced pancetta is preferable to chunky bacon pieces also. Ever try double-smoked bacon on pizza? That is awesome...
I don't really eat pizza, haven't had it in a long time. I think if I ate it, I'd be all over the garlic+chicken.
Soz, you'd love living at mi casa. I could literally hit Trader Joe's with a rock. You know, I've only done it a couple of times though. They have the best tortilla chips.
velvetta topped with spam on rainbow bread heated in the toaster oven.
They do, don't they?
I'd missed these other suggestions... yummmm. I want to try that garlic chicken. Any recipe for the white sauce?
dys -- EEEEWWWWWWWWWW! :X
Not lately, Cav. I'm trying to cut down on my salt intake. That's why the smokey gouda cheese. I get a similar smokey flavor without as much salt.
But, it sounds wonderful. Maybe some Canadian bacon.
Speaking of salt, is anyone else noticing that now that no-fat and low-fat foods are the rage, the salt content of everything seems to be increasing dramatically?
Butr...
That is what they do to add for Taste I guess. Its easier to find low salt and high fat that it is to find low salt and low fat.
Go figure?
I eat a lot of those "Skillet Sensations" by Lean Cuisine...they're good, and low fat, but have tons of sodium. All frozen food does.
Best way to eat low-salt, is to buy fresh food.
Soz, when I'm lazy I usually just use a jar of garlic white pasta sauce and add a munch of mashed roasted garlic to it and let it simmer until it reduces and gets thick.
Otherwise, just about any bechamel sauce recipe will do and you can doctor it up.
Butr, not just the salt, check the sugar content of 'low-fat' treats as well. Personally, I'll take my chances with the bacon.
