Make your own E85 fuel (85% BioEthanol, 15% gasoline)

This web site is for everyone who is fed up with the 40% price hike in gasoline these past few months, and especially for those of you who want to make your own fuel.

If you have ever made your own beer or wine, or would like to learn, you can ferment any starchy or sugary foods or waste products into a mash that you can distill into 190 proof alcohol.

If you are resourceful, you may even find stuff you can use for free. Once fermented, it is not so hard to distill it to 190-proof with a modern still. The real good news is that you may not have to do any mechanical work or changes to your car or truck. It may already be factory ready for E85.

Hey SeC, do you understand the concept of a thread? You know, like posting several bits that belong to one topic in the same place? Just because I noticed that you started something like 5 different threads on BioEthanol. I mean, hey, you're fascinated by BioEth, okay. But if you kept it all in one thread it might make it easier for people to actually post an answer somewhere....

its even easier to make ethanol from trash. However, ebnergy budgets in mind , ethanol; is still costing as much to ferment, distill, and dry. Its gotta be dried out so it doesnt carry over too much water.

Im involved in a self funded little research project to make biodiesel. Weve got
1 an esterification reactor

2 a collecting sump and filter

3 an equalizing (batching setup)

4 a separatory system to tap off most of the glycerine

5 a waste stream and feedstock tank setup.

6 a customer for the glycerine

7 a series of small programs to calculate costs, returns and savings
