I am sure they will keep the Britishness...

Richard Branson? As in Virgin CEO Richard Branson? The Rebel Billionaire? That's one I hadn't heard.
And lo, there it is in Wikipedia:

Crazy, huh? Really like him so excited about seeing him. Here is an article I saw on it:

Just read on Superhero Hype about this Casino Royale strategy game -- sounds fun. Has anyone played?

Oh, it could work. But, she couldn't Jane, she'd have to be something more sophisticated and international.

Less than a month till this movie -- can't wait. I will be there opening day.

Oh and I had the chance to check out the game with my friend and it is a lot of fun. Definitley recommend checking it out -- you need a friend to play wiht or you can play someone who is already online. I am awful -- haha but working at it Smile

Anyone going to see tomorrow? I can't wait and I can't believe it is finally here.

And for all the CR strategy game lovers, I finally made it out of the airport this weekend -- took me awhile but enjoyed every sec. Anyone else make it out?

Well I've just seen it. Bloody good stuff I have to say. It'll be interesting to see how they want to develop the franchise now with this darker, edgier and more raw Bond, hopefully they stick to a very similar vein with the character of Bond always being hinted at and re-examined. Helps that it has, in my honest opinion of course, a kick ass theme song too..

There's been hype on this for a long time and I've paid no attention. I read Ian Fleming way back when, and liked the early Bond movies, had decreasing interest with the newer actors. But - this one sounds like a true descendent of the original text, and I'd like to see it.

I haven't read the original text but that's what people are saying, that, he's nailed the true vision of Ian Fleming's, more so than any before. I shouldn't go getting people's hopes up though should I? Laughing

Well I was very impressed anyway, I'm just wondering whether, as people are talking of "going back to it's roots", they're going to stick to this new path faithfully and not be tempted to steadily move back to some of the stuff we've seen in previous Bond films, I guess it all depends on who they see him as, the central character.

It's a genuine fresh start, with him gaining his 007 status at the start of the film, as opposed to them simply getting a new actor in and changing the style a bit. The difference is that what they've done gives them more license to really explore new territory with it. Think that bodes well myself, who knows though.

Daniel Craig - the latest James Bond
It's been generally accepted that Sean Connery's portrayal of James Bond has never been surpassed by those who followed. I was in agreement until I saw Casino Royale with Daniel Craig as the new Bond. He is magnificent. No actor including Connery has ever received an Academy Award nomination for the roll but Craig definitely deserves one. This is a great actor. In my opinion has dropped Connery into the second slot. Sorry Sean.

It's a bit odd that not one Bond has ever been the character that Fleming described in his novels.

James Bond was a 35 year old English commander in the British secret service.

The first JB was Sean Connery a Scotsman
The second was an Australian
Roger Moore was too old to be a spy
then Timothy Dalton who was a welshman
then Pierce Brosnan an Irishman

There must be a casting director on the planet that can get something right even if it's only by accident

I don't recall Fleming describing Bond's hair color but Daniel Craig is British at 38 years old.

Moore was 50 when he made "The Spy Who Loved Me," the best outing in his Bond career, but he didn't look 50. mmThey kept him for the part way too long (he was showing it in "Octopussy" where reviewers started making the "long-in-the-tooth" remarks) while going into original script territory not from a Fleming novel. It's rather jarring to see Pierce show up in "Goldeneye" at 42, looking 35!
