I was rooting for Clive Owen who would have brought a kind of snarky sophistication to the role but I can understand why he turned it down. Daniel Craig might just surprise us all, though.

I was a little skeptical on having a new Bond even though it was an inevitability, but after I saw the trailer I was convinced that it's going to be awesome.

Here's the teaser trailer:

TEASER TRAILER LINK FOR CASINO ROYALE

It does look good and he looks good in the part. Maybe not to worry (James Bond is one of my guilty pleasures as I like all of them but, of course, the Sean Connery outings are still the best even though the CGI is incredible in the newer flicks).

Craig looks like a man, not one of the pretty boy sissy type Hollywood
would choose, so I agree Lightwizard, he looks good in the part.

Yuck, I woulnt have seen another Bond movie if Clive owen had been chosen.
I think Daniel is a bit young for the role but I suppose Casino Royale is the first Bond book.

Saw the latest Bond trailer today. This has got to be the WORST Bond trailer EVER.It's mostly voiced-over by Dame Judy,a few jump-cuts of Bond in his swimmers,a few lame action clips, and that's it! This is one puppy who is NOT holding his breath untill the November release Mad

The new Superman trailer is 10 times better.Kevin Spacey looks to be a BRILLIANT Lex Luthor, with the big plus of loadsa back-story Cool

I am actually looking forward to this film as well as Craig playing Bond -- at first I was a little hestiant but after watching the trailer I think he will be great. When is the exact release date?

Oh I really? I thought it was sometime in November? Will check...

Saw the trailer this weekend when I went to see DaVinci Code -- seeing it on the big screen got me even more excited...

I have to admit, I'm looking forward to it, too. I get anxious about the franchise every time they switch Bonds, but I'm (fairly) happy with the results each time.
And you're right. It's November 17th, not October 19th. I was off by about a month. I don't remember where online I found that date originally, but it looks like it was wrong since everything, including IMDb.com, says November. My bad.

LOL, that is what I thought Smile

Yeah, I can see why you would be uneasy about the change but I think he will do a fine job.

Oh and I hear that Richard Branson is going to be making a cameo in the movie. Cool, huh?

Richard Branson? As in Virgin CEO Richard Branson? The Rebel Billionaire? That's one I hadn't heard.
And lo, there it is in Wikipedia:
Quote:
He has a cameo appearance in the new Superman film, credited as "Shuttle Engineer", alongside his son Sam, with Virgin Galactic-esque commercial suborbital shuttle at the center of his storyline. He will have a cameo in the upcoming James Bond film Casino Royale as well.

Im looking forward to Bond but Im hoping they will keep the Britishness and not make it into a hollywood blockbuster.
We are evry proud of Bond and I personally want the brand to carry on.
The trailor looks great, Danial Craig in his swimmers, fanatastic!!You guys got that lady in the white Bikini in Dr No, we get Danial Craig and his rippling muscles.

Im in 2 minds about Superman, I feel like Im betraying Reeves/Kidder/Hackman and whoever played Miss Tessmarker.

They'd better keep the Brithishness. Otherwise, it's just not Bond.
Ah, yes, the lady in the white bikini, Ursula Andres. "Underneath the Mango Tree" is a song I'll never forget because of that.
