Actually, it IS the best ersatz coffee drink I have had!
Coffee it isn't (obviously) but it has some robustness and oomph.
Like Francis, I thought you meant Ticino (well - perhaps Francis didn't think that, but was just being smart!)
I couldn't drink a whole region (?canton?) - even if it is a coffee alternative.
They do bloody good chocolate in Switzerland, though!

And they are delicious with coffee (not some ersatz!)

One day, Francis will be too smart for his own good.....
Ersatz coffee? Never mind, Deb. Save your postage.

I didn't think Cassandra was playing...???
Deb, the Republic of Tea sells rooiboos. Also called Red bush or just red tea, its the only herbal tea that is fermented , (just like assam)
I like it cause its good without sugar and can brewed dark or light and takes milk without wimping out.
Im not too fond of Republic... brands cause they sell tea bags of the stuff. We get it from a house that we also get pu-ehr tea.(kinda moldy tasting with a shot of lapsang)
They shouldnt market thsi a s a 'coffee sub" . That would make it come off as a "me too" brand. They should sell its benefits on its own. (The flavinoid filled, caffein free hot beverage, with a taste unlike anything youve ever drunk before.)
So your acting like her, seriously?
Er....does that mean "Am I seriously acting like her?"
or
"I am acting seriously like her?"
Republic of Tea?
Is that an American thing?

Yes. It's the entire Southeastern section of the US.
Full name... United Republic of SWEET Tea, daaawlin'. Why, I do declare, this is mighty fine tea. (fans self on porch swing and takes another sip.)
Usually the hillbillies mix sweet ice tea with their shine.
Yes, and it's a shame Long Island gets all the credit for the hillbilly concoction.
farmerman wrote:Deb-Ever try rooiboos, or red bush tea? [..] Its the National drink of Botswana.
(that deserves to just stand there by itself)
Lol!
And Francis, if you were serious in asking about my Cassandraish seriousness, no, I was seriously not serious.
You know, it is oddd that when I start perfectly serious threads, they seem to digress more than non serious digression threads.
More evidence of malignant design, I suppose.
Purist here.
Fake coffee (et alia)?
Pfui.

I'm always serious with humourous matters...
Just to be an assh*le. The first person I see drinking Teecina....I'm going to walk up to them and say.
"Is that that teecino crap"???........."yes"
"I just read in the paper that **** is giving people cancer."
and walk away.
