To much money is made off of narcotics, and its at the expense of the tax payer. Drugs are the foundation of the U.S. criminal justice system; too many people depend on their illegality. A leigon of lawyers, a masssive prison system... Drugs=Job Security for these people, and they have powerful lobbys to ensure that it remains that way.
