How did you come to know about this site?

Word of Mouth (from a friend)
A friend at school actually referred me to this web site. We were attempting to solve a riddle during math class (we had a game day today). He told me his username, but I forgot what it was.

I'd be surprised to learn if it in any way is significant - but I was looking for the image used in the avatar of some user on completely unrelated forums which I am a fairly active member of, which led to a site which led to another, which led to a discussion, which led to an argument for the opposing position, which led to a search which brought up a thread in your site.
Needless to say - its seredipity & its been nearly 5 hours since I stopped what I was doing.

I have a talent for tangents.

Hi all,

I searched on Google for "metric versus Imperial" and got this site as the last hit on page 1. I found a topic "The Metric System vs. The Imperial System. Change?". But this topic seems to have died a death between 2 and 3 years ago.

So I'll try to revive it with a new question. :wink:

i'm an old (c)raven's realm member and haven't been around for a few years, but decided to get an isp again.

I lurked here for over a year before I joined.

I can't recall how I discovered this place. It might have been mentioned on The Atlantic forums.

I did a heckuva a lot of searches to find this place and checked out countless other boards. Slowly I narrowed them down and decided on just this one was the place I wanted to be. I don't know. It just felt right!

Previously, I have checked out other things like newsgroups and chat rooms, but just wasn't happy with them. I'm quite active on a chess site and am one of the top posters on their message board. By no coincidence, they also use a PhpBB board, which I prefer.

I was doing a web search for biodiesel on Yahoo and it gave me this site as the second choice. I really like it.
