Is that what happened to Bush?

No. He won both times.

But he fell from grace; haven't you been following the polls on Bush? The lowest of any president.

He is still rated higher than the Democrat House and Senate.
Also, GW does not really care what the polls say and he shouldn't.

What's your point?

New polls came out saying Mrs. Bill Clinton would be our next president and we all know how correct that polling data was ...

GW has been a very good president and history will reflect this - polling data be damed.

You mouth-breathers keep telling yourself that, as you slowly become more and more marginalized in our society.

Did CNN follow the news of the new poll with a segment on Bill Clinton's bent dick syndrome?

His own administration is proof this is false.

Colon Powell peaced out, so did Rumsfeld, hell, McClellan even wrote a book about it. And so on. The White house has a turnover rate like a McDonalds. Signing orders along with contraversy after contraversy. And to garnish his legacy he will be remembered for how profoundly horrible of a speaker he was.

History is not going to be Dubya's friend.

The only wonder now is why he hasn't been charged with any crime; he's always done things that are contrary to our Constitution and Bill of Rights.

It's true that the Supreme Court and Congress is much to blame for their failing their oversight responsibilities, but instead agreed to laws that immunes this president from the original FISA laws. Torture of prisoners should never have been allowed, and keeping prisoners incarcerated without charge of any crime or legal representation is a international crime.

Oh I am sure the Dems will probably win seats in both houses and are likely to even gain the presidency. But, 4 years will be all they see as the country will remember what having a Democratic controlled government is like and will raise hell for 4 years until the next election cycle. It will most likely be another Republican landslide.

Of course I could be wrong. For our countries sake, I kind of hope I am.

McG, How do you come to your conclusions? It certainly isn't from knowing history.

May 9, 2005

REPUBLICANS vs. DEMOCRATS ON THE ECONOMY....Did you know that Democratic presidents are better for the economy than Republicans? Sure you did. I pointed this out two years ago, back when my readership numbered in the dozens, and more recently Michael Kinsley ran the numbers in the LA Times and came to the same conclusion.

The results are simple: Democratic presidents have consistently higher economic growth and consistently lower unemployment than Republican presidents. If you add in a time lag, you get the same result. If you eliminate the best and worst presidents, you get the same result. If you take a look at other economic indicators, you get the same result. There's just no way around it: Democratic administrations are better for the economy than Republican administrations.

Well, I for one would be happy if we had a third choice rather than having to bounce between two bad choices every two years. I can only hope that the Democrats have learned from their past screw-ups and keep in mind that they'll be out on their asses if they don't do better this time.

The Dem's have been in controll for 2 years now. Remeber Pelosi's promises for the first 100 days? Fail.

There is nt much hope the next 2 years will be improved based on past performance. If anything, it will prove to be a miserable failure... Time will tell just it always has. I just hope the country is strong enough to survive it. I suppose we will be untill all our individual rights are replaced by the Democratic platform of "We know how to live your life better then you do."
