Also, many conservatives see McCain more as a liberal than a conservative. If you've kept track of Bush, he's no conservative either! Conservatives are supposed to believe and act on small government; Bush grew the government like no other conservative - much less liberals, and our deficit grows at a time when our economy falls into recession.

Bush continues to ask congress for more money for his Iraq war while Americans lose their homes and cars, and Iowa sinks into mudville.

The Bush conservatism is dead in the water.

What's your point?

We need to continue supporting our trips that we sent into harms way.

Mudville will sort itself out.

Have you heard yet what "success" in Iraq looks like? Did Bush provide us with an exit strategy? 100 more years? For what, exactly?

I guess my SpeelChek wasn't working.
Let me put it another way ~ OK.

We need to continue supporting all of the troops that we send into harms way.

BTW, premature exit strategies are for pussies.

Looks like Barack's strangle hold on the Dem attack machine isn't quite what he thought it was. Latest and despicable ad from moveon.org.

What's despicable about that ad?

It correctly highlights McCain's idiotic Iraq position, one in which he refuses to enumerate any of the details but instead asserts that Iraq will be 'peaceful' under our occupation. It's truly a farce of a position, and one only supported by idiots and dead-enders.

Great ad.

Shocked Is Obama's plan requiring insurance companies to be non-profit? I must have overlooked something.

Not in so many words, but if the government requires the insurance companies to take all applicants no questions asked, it will have the same effect.

Why do you think that would be the case?

Because it already is the case for those plans accepting Medicade and Medicare patients so there is no reason to think that Obama's new ambitious national health plan will be any different.

My favorite reply to that trash:

"Sorry Alex, but your mom is an idiot.

Let's hope she doesn't put you in government schools
because you may turn out as ignorant as she is.

Good luck Alex ~ "

Question

I can't follow you. Insurance companies accepting Medicaid and Medicare patients already make no profits?

Where they stand on taxes:

OBAMA: Up to $1,000 in tax cuts per middle-class famly. Eliminate income taxes for people over 65 earning less than $50,000.

MC CAIN: Double the personal exemption for dependents to $7,000. Offer taxpayers choice of a simpler set of tax rules.

It is beginning to look like rich people will not only pay most of the income taxes as they have increasingly done, they will soon pay all of them. Soak the rich, yes, you better get ready, ci, they are coming for your money.

We're comfortable but not what anybody can call rich; except I consider my life to be "rich," because we don't have to worry about gas or food prices, and I can still travel a few times every year.

Fortunately I've become cynical enough about Obama it's hard for him to disappoint me any more. Still, so much for "change".
