I find it to be highly ironic that the GOP-controlled house is going to have to resort to Ominbus spending bills and short-term CR's in order to keep the government running, in light of the intense criticism they and their ideological cronies have leveled at the Dems for doing the same thing in the past.

@Cycloptichorn,
At least one of the CR's will have to be resolved tomorrow, Cyclo. Congress, when they returned after Labor Day and working really, really hard bickering for 10 days, is scheduled to take off starting Thursday for a week. Rosh Hoshana.
FEMA will run out of money on Monday.

@Cycloptichorn,
I find it highly ironic that the bill Obama wants passed right now is not going to be considered by the Senate for another month.

@Finn dAbuzz,
That's not near as ironic as what I pointed out.

@Finn dAbuzz,
Cue the golf clubs, the cute shorts and the camera crew to provide the punters with shots of his all-American sporting prowess.

I saw him bound up some more steps last night. Has he nobody on his staff who dare tell him what a silly sod he looks when he's bounding up a small flight of steps.

@spendius,
It's as if being President leaves so much unused energy that the bounding reflex sets in at every opportunity.

He should have two big guys help him up steps to show how heavily the cares of office take their toll.

Ah yes, the famous "Third Way," situated on the political spectrum between socialism and communism. For those unfamiliar, Mussolini's Facism was known as the 'Third Way" and was similar to Hitler's Nazi political agenda.

You guys hate Obama, but can't seem to wrap your head around the fact that his plans are popular - including the taxation portion of them.

The GOP can certainly block this, but that will be difficult for them heading into an election year.

@okie,
It was also the term mooted by Tony Blair. You're really clutching at straws, the people acting like Nazis are the Tea Party.

You really are not well informed about history, are you? I would suggest you become more informed about what their policies were. HINT, It was all about a powerful state and the so-called "common good." not individual good and rights of the individual. That is not the Tea Party at all and anyone with an ounce of honesty or common sense would know it.

@okie,
The tea party is a joke, a supposed grass roots movement set up by a bunch of millionaires, pandering to the racism of a bunch of idiots, who dance to the rich mans tune and work against their own best interests. That's fairly obvious to anyone with half a brain.

You are a joke and frankly an embarrassment to this country and this forum. By the way, I am no rich man in terms of money.

Spot on, Izzy. And okieMcdopey is so lost in the haze that he doesn't even realize that he's one of the one's dancing (in your astute analysis), and not one of the rich.

Such inambiguous "clarity" is fairly clearly the result of igniring the facts of the origin of this very loosely organized movement and the expressed concerns of its members. Such prejudicial "analysis" is much easier than dealing with facts.

Well you would say that, you're one of the few who benefits from it all.
