@georgeob1,
Quote:Spendi is more neurotically persistent than I.
George--I am not even slightly neurotic. I don't see what is neurotic about trying to reduce the effects on young people of the complacency of those who may know something very well, but confuse that with knowing everything. I am not trying to dent that complacency. It is too far gone for me to have any chance of denting it. I'm not even interested in it. I am not prepared to let it have an unhindered passage into the minds of others which you seem happy to do. My protagonists were persauded to their views by such things and they seek to validate those views by persuading others to share them.
I could easily say that you are neurotically nervous about getting into the ring with them and that such delicacy can do no other than hand the future over to them. I am not scared, or even bothered, about drawing the ire of the likes of High Seas and Olga or anybody else. I encourage it actually. The ignorant, unsupported assertions in which they engage, and which clearly signify the depth of their committment to scientific method, discredit everything they say in the eyes of intelligent people and unintelligent people are of no consequence in regard to the future. What intelligent person would take any notice of Setanta after reading his contributions to those threads? To be insulted by such people is a compliment and I have no neurotic fears for my good name in the eyes of people of that type.
Those who think I have a point will, I hope, take my argument on board and spread it in those circles they mix in. And we do not know who they are or what influence they might have.
As an ex-senior naval officer and man of experience, it is, in my opinion, remiss of you to not stand shoulder to shoulder with me in the battle to save Christianity. Even at the mundane level all our accepted property relations depend upon it.
